​January 17th, 2018  Gary Libben made  a presentation to the group. Gary is a member of the Writers’ Circle, a scholar, and Vice-President (Research) of Brock University.

Gary is a psycholinguist who studies how words are represented and processed in the mind. He was named  a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 2008. He is a former President of the Canadian Linguistics Association, co-founder of The Mental Lexicon Journal, and was a founding director of the University of Alberta’s Centre for Comparative Psycholinguistics.

​He has also been director of Words in the Mind, Words in the Brain, a project funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.

December 6, 2015  History Matters

​​‘History Matters’: a panel presentation and discussion about researching, documenting, and effectively presenting historical events/eras in our work. 

Jean Baxter is an accomplished author of historical fiction who has 5 books published.
Dr. Richard Merritt is a well respected local historian whose most recent book is Training for Armageddon: Niagara Camp in the Great War, 1914-19. 
Randy Klaassen is a long-standing member of the NOTL Writers’ Circle and has worked with local residents to write and publish their memoirs.

September 14th 2014 - Hear Members of the NOTL Writers' Circle read short stories they created, specifically for the Pumphouse Exhibit at the Jackson Triggs Hospitality Tent.
(1-5 p.m.) Tickets: $40 -proceeds go to the Niagara Boys and Girls Club
